Areas of Concentration:

Education Law- Act in capacity of General Counsel. Advise and represent in every facet of the law, including: grievances and labor arbitration; administrative proceedings (i.e., Human Rights Division, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Public Employment Relations Board); the laws relating to special education and appeals to the Commissioner of Education; litigation on all related subjects in the New York and federal courts and appeals with respect to the same; defense of tax certiorari claims; drafting and negotiating contracts relating to bid awards, construction work, real property transactions, intramunicipal agreements, employment contracts and disputes with respect to same; collective bargaining and related services; bonding an all forms of debt service; disciplinary proceedings relating to employees and students (i.e., Education Law Sections 3020-a and 3214; Civil Service Law Sections (72-75); elections; propositions; seniority and tenure issues; board member and responsibilities; etc., and special education (IDEA). Through Susan Mills Richmond, serve as Impartial Hearing Officer.

Municipal Law – General zoning, subdivisions, tax certioraries, and litigation by or against municipalities.

Real Estate – Closings for sellers, buyers and lenders. Advice and representation in real estate construction and development, purchases and sales, exchanges, leases, loans, title insurance and zoning matters and proceedings, as well as real property tax and eminent domain (condemnation proceedings). Foreclosure related legal services are also offered.

Labor Law - Advice and representation in the areas of labor law, contract negotiations, labor relations and discrimination in employment.

Commercial/Corporate - Business formations and ongoing advice, drafting of shareholder/employee/officer agreements, purchase agreements and general commercial litigation including collections. Bankruptcy and reorganization as detailed below.

Bankruptcy and Reorganization - Full representation in all phases and types of bankruptcy, personal and commercial. We help individuals and businesses file for bankruptcy relief under the US Bankruptcy Code Chapters 7, 11 and 13. Assist in putting together repayment plans and give federal debt restructuring assistance. Work with creditors in their matters.

Litigation - Representation before administrative tribunals, state and federal courts, and appeals on all levels. All aspects of dispute resolution from negotiation up until potential trial

Contracts – The preparation and review of contracts for the sale and financing of all types of goods and services.

Estates/ Wills / Probate – Estate planning and will drafting, probate and related litigation. The preparation of wills, trusts, and powers of attorney; probate and guardianship proceedings.

Arbitration/Mediation - Full services as arbitrator or mediator, or representing parties in arbitration or mediation.

Traffic Violations - Full representation defending violations of all types.

Intellectual Property - Protecting your work and enforcing your rights against the infringement of others. Filing, processing, and maintaining trademarks and copyrights. Providing consultation as to the availability and likelihood of success of achieving registration status.
